The woolshed

Hi you all hope your w/end is going well.
Saturday saw me driving with mum and dad to an exhibition (arty & crafty) at a woolshed located on an awesome property called Pikedale,as my camera decided to die I am afraid You will just have to believe me when I say this property is magnificent.
Although the weather was bleak to say the least, we packed up the dogs made a thermos and headed down to Stanthorpe and then turned west on the road to Texas(Australia) about 33 klms down the road we turned off into a private property (Sheep station) after driving past the magnificent old homestead,which was in immaculate shape we headed thru the property about a further 800metres to the woolshed. They had catering tents and a band playing,it was when you got inside the shed where the exhibition was you felt the aura of the shed and the smells of times gone by.They had some great works of art, paintings, wood sculpture,jewellery,tin sculptures and beautiful woollen products. I am afraid I could only afford the card sets which I have copied and some raffle tickets( guess I have not won no-one has rung) well we enjoyed ourselves and thats what life is about. We took the long way home, thru some very lovely landscapes and over the dry creeks, we only saw one kangaroo and I stopped and helped a tortoise get off the road,oh yes we did see two beautiful wedge tailed eagles soaring high above us and about twenty pelicans enjoying the thermals. We were tired and ready to relax for the nite all cosy with the fire burning.
Today Sunday was get up late, cook a roast dinner and stay warm as those nasty westerly winds are blowing and go right thru you.I have added a couple of pics of the clouds today ,I swear they are full of ice.
