Thursday

Firstly... My heartfelt thanks to you all
for your wishes and prayers.
I have had the MRI, and now await the results. Dad is also awaiting his biopsy results, but in our family, one does not dwell on yesterday. I have been organising the window for the barn, and removing more panels, and yes more egg cartons. Also, I have been tracing old friends who I did my nursing training with some 37 yrs ago, though it has not been easy. I would love to organize a reunion for us all.... yep I think I can do this. This following little prayer was penned for me by an old and dear friend, I thought I would like to share it with you all.

I opened up the e-mail,
a little prayer I found.
I send it back to you
with love that is profound.
You see when one is feeling low,
it is a lovely prayer.
A friend is such a precious thing,
not found everywhere.
I'm glad there is a precious one
for they are hard to find.
When I tell you,thats it's you,
I know you will not mind.
So remember that I too care
and pray for dear you too.
That god will give you what you need
in all you have to do.

Now here are some photos taken from the area that I live........

wednesdays In advance

I have to drive to toowomba today one and a quarter hours nth.I have to undergo an MRI on my spinal cord,to cut a long story short, I was diagnosed with MS 14 yrs ago and recently I had an MRI on my brain which the neuro surgeon who I was referred to , said showed no plaques and therefore he doubted I have MS, so I now have to have the spinal MRI and then see a professor who specialises in MS . So after 14 yrs we still dont know the reason for my symptoms. but enough about me . My dearest father is to undergo a biopsy under a scan to his face where a nasty lump has appeared,he chose to take his holiday to NZ and face this when he came back. As he has had a few melanoma's removed from other areas , he is a little apprehensive. So my dear friends could I ask you to say a prayer for my dad for today. thankyou

You will never guess

Up early, decided to attack the barn again, all the existing plaster lining had to be pulled down to enable me to insulate the walls. Everything was going well... I had removed 1/2 a dozen sheets and was about to remove no 7 when I began to move it away from the wall... then egg cartons (not just a few) started raining down on me! I just sat on my but and laughed lol
Decided enough for today , so todddled off and got my octogenerians their lunch and then thought I would share this find with you all. I am wondering what is behind the other panels yet to be removed lol. The tool shed is well on the way thanks to dad, and I finally got the sunport up for the car (now winter is upon us soon). Few, what a day!

Its Monday

Another Monday, or so I thought.
after doing all those usual chores,
out for a walk in my garden I went.
As I was smelling my roses
and doing the routine check for bugs,
imagine my delight to find this beautiful twin rose,
to me so rare. Two flowers coming from one bud,
a freak of nature or just a beautiful creation.

Has anyone witnesed this before?

Its Thursday

Yesterday I went to Bisbane to pickup my Octerian travellers,
Mum and Dad. I must say it was great to see their smiling faces,
they had an unforgetable holiday, even though they had caught a cold.

The trip home was full of chatter, both of them eager to fill me in on what they enjoyed the most. It was just so lovely to see and hear them so full of life. I have included some pics of Milford sound.

Just one of the many magical places they saw. They were equally excited in seeing all I had accomplished whilst they were away. This morning I let them rest and spoilt them with a cuppa in bed. I had no sooner done this and in come visitors, me still in my jammies (what does one do) well I put the kettle back on and enjoyed their company. After they left, I got dressed (nothing like being casual), a good time was had by all.

Some sayings to ponder

The secret of health for both body and mind,is not to mourn the past, not to worry about the future, nor to anticipate troubles, but to live the present moment wisely and ernestly. Buddha
"Present Moment" because that is the only moment for us to live. If you miss the present moment, you miss your appointment with life.

As long as you always hold someone in your heart, you will never lose them.

Love is a fruit in season at all times,
and within the reach of every hand.
Mother Theresa

happiness

I really liked this, so thought I would share it.

For those like me who require reading aids it says.

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens,

but often we look so long at the closed door, that we do not see

the one that has been opened for us".

Time flies when your having fun

Well now has my life gone up a level or what .The w\end was full on with my daughter and family visiting. Then my best friend and her mum arrived,so the house was full. My son-in-law Christopher and I managed to get the floor base laid in the barn, then we placed my latest statue in her nook in the yard, but we ran out of time to nail the floor down.I can do that at my pace. When everyone was about to leave on Sunday ,I get a phone call from my late brothers son, could he visit, well what do yo say! He was staying on the gold coast with his mum and sister and just wanted to catch up.As he was without transport, off I go 2hrs down and 2hs back, but it was nice seeing him again, he had to be back by Tuesday nite. After my specialists appointment, I headed off again to the gold coast, the boys in the back(they didnt mind all this tripping about). This morning not even a sleep in, the car had to be in for its service by 8am. I am now taking a breath before I start Mondays house chores, by the w\end I should have caught up.Ausssie and Billy are taking it all in their stride, they havent had time to miss the parents, the pic are of the floor and the statue. Now to round it all up, let me just say it's grand to be alive, may your god bless you and smile Bye for now gail

A New day

Thankyou to those who wished me sweet dreams, I think I was out to it for 10 hrs. but life goes on and today we had the new blinds fitted to this gracious old dame, whilst that was being accomplished I set too and emptied the old barn of eveything to enable me to get stuck into laying the floor. It was a big day to say the least, but I feel pretty good that I accomplished it, I have enclosed some pics of todays achievements.Tomorrow I start on the floor. My parents were like two youngsters heading off, I know they will have a great trip ,when they rturn on the22nd I will post some pics for you to share. well its off to rest now. have a great week ,just smile.

On their Way

We left Warwick early and had an uneventful trip to Brisbane airport where I saw them safely into the departure lounge ,gave them a talking to about behaving themselves and said my goodbyes, by this time the boys were getting restless.By the time I arrived home I was ready for a nice cuppa and sit down, so sorry for this short message , but I am very tired ,as are the boys.

Its a dogs world

Today is overcast and good cuddle up weather, after a lovely lie in and a quick breaky, it was time to take a walk around the garden to check out any damage from the wind, happy to report all is well. I cannot wait for all the plants, shrubs and trees to grow to there full heights. While my parents are away I plan to lay a floor in the old barn (storage area behind the old shop) this will eventually be my guest quarters fully self contained. it is a challenge but will be achieved in time. I will post the work inprogress and you can all watch the transformation, from old barn to comfortable guest quarters. the photos are of my two lityle companions one is an australian silky terrier (aussie) the other a papillion or butterfly ear dog(billy) as you can see they ae spoilt rotten and rightly so as they look out for us all. I have also posted pics of this old house showing the work we have achieved so far, The long building is the barn I will be working in. Time to get my parents lunch, stay happy (smile)

You and Me

Once upon a time our hearts fell in love
and we began our life together. The mountains we've
climbed and the stars we've had to reach for,
have only strengthened the love we share.
Side by side, we've lived the dream, braved the storms ,
and written a tale of forever love.

Another Day Lifes great, I woke up

today is alot cooler in sth west queensland, we didnt get the rain predicted, but the temperature drop is very welcome. I was snooping at my daughters latest posting , they have been very busy cleaning up the yard ready for the birthday party , thank goodness the rain appears to have eased. I cant make it down but my beautiful granddaughter will be far to busy with her friends and being the centre of attention to miss me. I am going to have another small party when they all come up next w/end. My parents are off to New Zealand for 17 days and I give them a medal for it as they are both in their eighties.I would love to be as active at their age.My day is just unfolding, but I know it will be a good one.I just have to smile.
