Nothing ventured nothing gained

Well what a day, I couldn't drag these old bones out of bed this morning ,I was in meltdown mode, but I knew the washing and the garden were waiting so (in slow motion) I arose got dressed and hit the laundry, but the water was flowing so slow it took 15minutes to fill the tub, well I knew something was amiss, so off I went Ms Fix it, but to no avail.By the time I had eliminated all the things it could be it had fixed itself (maybe an air pocket)
Next came the garden, I had some mint I had to thin out before it took over the garden bed it was in and the lawn had some bindi grass starting to grow (this is a weed that has very sharp little pods that cling to everything and are hard to get out of a dogs coat) I have decided to remove them instead of spraying as Mr Frog is still in residence.
Today was overcast with the promise of rain, but it was so light when it came the washing dried.
I have taken it on myself to join a lapidary club (rocks and things) I am going to learn to facet gemstones and make jewellery,it is only a small club ,but very well equipped and they are so friendly, many years ago I collected speciman rocks and my dad used to tumble pebbles, which showed off their hidden beauty, I am going one step further, I hope I havent left it to late.
The first trip will be to a private property where Garnets are found, my daughters birth stone, with a lot of luck I might find a decent specimen to make her something.
I hope you are all having a good week so far,if not ,(It helps To smile) or (Have A Good Cry) whichever eases tension within.
Hugs to you all Gail

Our Mr frog

Whilst I lay quietly in my bed listening to the rain, I heard a distinctive noise of a frog outside my window, yes it was Mr frog and then in the distance was a reply, slightly different. I thought when i arose this morning Mr frog would have gone, but no, there he was as snug as a frog could be in his new home. If you look closely you can see him peering out at the world. In the second picture I just dropped the camera down and pressed the button, you can just see him snuggled up in the far corner

This is Mr frogs human built abode, we are going to add a couple more rocks to ensure he is out of sight.Hopefully he will stay awhile. Posted by Picasa

Something different

This little frog or actually large frog was in our garden today, he didnt look to happy with the world, so I built him a hideaway with rocks and gave him a small plate filled with water to spend the day.I think he is a Northern Banjo Frog and he is a burrowing type, hopefully he will have improved by tonite and will make his way home.

Just another angle

These are a pic of a gift I received from my aunt whilst she was here. They are my grandmothers engagement ring and her watch, she was married at 17 and died at 96, the watch was a present to her from my grandad on their wedding day. This now means I have both my grandmothers watches and ones wedding ring and the others engagement ring.Treasures to pass down to my daughter and grandaughter.
The pics of the frog were taken with my new camera, the jewellery with my old one (I like this thing they call zoom)
well with all that has been going on around me, it didnt work out with KH, he was a lovely guy but my life at this time is committed to my family and it is hard for someone to just fit in.I am content although grumpy at times, when I get tired (normal)
Life can be great one minute and then the rug is pulled from under your feet and you are either left sitting on your butt wondering what happened and why, or you are balancing it all thru and getting on with it, I choose to just get on with it. Go with my energy flows, they seem to steer me in the right direction for this lifetime.
enough ramblings, its good to be back , bye for now. Posted by Picasa

Its time To Return

Hello to all my blogging friends,
To say things have been hectic in the last month would be an understatement. Nicole (Little Miss Arty)has kept you all up to date with the comings and goings of our family.
I have some breathing space,my uncle has returned to his home safely, he will be seeing his on doctor Monday and they will organise the next step in his treatment.Hopefully there is not any nasties to be found on his parathyroid gland.
My dad is progressing well, the area he had radium treatment to has completly healed, he still has a little fluid retention under his chin, but this too will dissipate in time. He has been back out in the barn, putting up a hand rail on the stairs, like any old tradesman he started with nothing and ended up with a good solid finish, now we have something to grab onto as we climb the stairs.
I have not had time to spend out in the barn, but am looking forward to getting amongst it again soon.
Well, I know it isnt the beginning of September yet, but spring is here, the trees are budding and the wattles are blooming and the cherry blossoms are out.The birds are building their nests, the animals are having babies and the day temperature is warm.
Its time to get the garden out of hibernation and into the growing season, I have to feed, weed and water.
Thankyou to all of you who kept in touch via my e-mail and a special thankyou to Peggy for my lovely gift, some things to treasure.
Oh, I bought myself a camera, nothing flash, its a sony and when I read up on it, watch out you will be inundated with pics.
I found this verse and would like to share it with you.

THE PRINCIPLE OF GIVING AND RECEIVING
MAY BE A BASIC LAW OF CREATION, BUT WE'RE
NOT BORN KNOWING IT! AS A MATTER OF FACT
WE COME INTO THIS WORLD TAKING,GRASPING,
CLINGING TIGHT. WE HAVE TO LEARN TO GIVE,
LEARN TO SHARE, LEARN TO THINK OF OTHERS.

Forgetting oneself is not a refinemnt of love.
It is a first condition of love.
