Sunday All Day

The evening sky. Once again mother nature is experimenting with color and the softness of each minute was to me breathtaking, this time of day, is when I feel the closest to my inner self. Yes we had a little rain as well.

Updates

I have been busy being a lazy person,my body just stopped for awhile and I had to slow down.I went to my first lapidary meeting on Wednesday. It was great, I learnt to use the grinder and then the first stage of the flat wheel polisher. I will take some pics next week so you can see what I am talking about. The people were really nice, yes I think I am going to enjoy this new hobby.
I have taken a pic of the toilet and hand basin dad has literally rebuilt for the barn,I am pleased to report they are up and running.I also took a picture of the barn,,they show the plaster in place ready for the touch up work and the roof which will be a challenge as I am keeping the high roof and having the cross beams exposed,it will take awhile but i know what to do, just have to get the steam up.

this picture shows a portion of the back garden, showing the new growth.Alot will be going on in my house after next week as school holidays start and that means I get to see my beautiful daughter and two precious grandchildren for a whole week,I am going to take young Harry fishing, then Bella and I might hit the shops,my daughter is going to help me with the plastering up of all the joints and hopefully take a break enjoying her grandparents company. We have had the coldest blustery winds for the previous few days, but today was once again warm and pleasant,I must away as i have friends to visit in blogger land, bye, stay happy. Posted by Picasa

A Wet Sunday

It was an unusual sound to wake up to, yes it was raining.
I had decided yesterday to take my parents on a drive to a little town named Allora, you see the cattle and sheep dogs were competing in a competition and they are awsome to watch ,such control and obedience.
After our latest visitors hit the road, heading down south to their home, we headed off ,it was still raining, but I felt it was worth the effort.
Arriving just after 12md, it was a shock to see everyone packing up (maybe next time)
Instead of turning around and heading for home, we took another road up into the goomburra national park.
The scenery was typical bush Oz,but we saw an eagle perched on a fence and nextdoor to it was a fox.I had disturbed their luch .
After driving for awhile we came to the park, whiich is set up for the camper and trekker, very very nice.
On the way back home we picked some mushrooms, which I cooked up for tea, one of my dads favourite food.
The ford escape is covered in mud and looks like I have been mud bashing, so I did the lazy thing and left it out in the rain.
below are a couple of pics .

Mum and dad reading about Goomburra national Park.
Not bad for a couple of eighty year olds
This board explains about the fauna and flora and the history.
These are our Victorian visitors(either end) leaving for home saying goodbye to my parents Posted by Picasa

An old Barn

Well what a find,I took everyone for a drive today ,we went to a town called Killarney and did some sight seeing. Then after lunch, we went off the beaten track up an old road called acacia ridge road. Dad had read a book about the area we live in and the beginning of dairy farming , so off we go to find this area and not far up the road is a barn (literally in the middle of nowhere) It is called the Blue cow mural,It was completed in 2002 .
Our visitors could not believe what they were seeing, neither could we, It is a barn completely painted with this mural, someone had put alot of effort into it ,amd we were one of the priviledged few who would ever see it,
So I decided to share it with you all, sorry it is in two parts but thats blogger for you.

Time To Reflect

After a few rather hectic days , of achieving quite alot in and around this old house, yesterday the sad news of Steve Irwins death, made me stop and question what I was doing.
It dawned on me that I was so busy either looking after someone, or always doing something I was breaking my own rule, of taking time out to enjoy life.
Today would have been (or Is) my 36th wedding anniversary and I still find I want or need to feel his hand in mine or his touch as he passes by or just his smile that was just for me from his heart. I guess that is why I dont stop it still hurts to reflect on what was and is no more.
(enough I say)
My pain was put away as visitors arrived, on their way back from Darwin, thats the capital of the Northern Territory, they had been visiting their son and family and are on there way home to Mildura in Victoria. Such a lovely down to earth couple,I met them on my way around Australia 3yrs ago.
I will be busy showing them some of the sights around Warrick, for the next few days.
I am happy Spring is here,I will take pics soon of the work Dad and I have been doing in the barn and around the house, just to update you all.
I hope you and yours are well and happy.
Bye till next post.

A trip For Friday

Firstly some sad news Mr Frog has passed on, I knew he was old but he had a lovely last couple of days,He rests beneath a small gardenia plant.
We were all up early this am, as I had promised mum we would take her to visit the Jondaryan woolshed, situated nth west of Warwick about 2hours travelling time.
It is very well presented and we spent 3hours exploring watching and enjoying all that was on offer.
I have taken photos of some of the exhibits ,but their were alot more . It was the Australian Heritage Festival and they had one of the best and most extensive exhibits of working steam run engines ,my dad had ever seen. He and all the boys (big and little) were having the time of their lives.
The picture to my left is a homestead, typical of early queensland times.
No2 pic is such a quaint cottage garden .

This is the kitchen inside the above cottage and the lady dressed in period clothes had just made a batch of scones,in the old stove. Posted by Picasa
