Wednesday A Quiet Day

This mountain range is the one I have to cross whenever I go to Brisbane. It never ceases to amaze me with its beauty. If you put the window down you are greeted with a chorus of bell birds singing. I saw a magnificent wedge tailed eagle yesterday soaring high above the cliffs. These mountains bring me peace, I dont know why, I just accept it.

Cunningham's Gap is a pass over the Great Dividing Range between the Darling Downs and Brisbane areas. It passes through the Main Range National Park, and on a clear day can be seen from Brisbane. In 1827 Allan Cunningham set out from the upper Hunter River to explore inside the Dividing Range, discovering the Darling Downs; returning in 1828 from Brisbane to discover Cunninghams Gap. Cunningham travelled on the right hand side of the Gap whereas the highway today runs on the lefthand side from Aratula. My information came from HERE.
