Friday surprise
If God took time to
create beauty,how can
we be too busy to
appreciate it?
.
After another chilly night I did not want to leave the warmth of my cosy bed, but apart of nature calling, and my sweet companion Aussie, putting his cold nose to my ear... there were too many chores to be done. Up and in to it, vacuum, mop and dust. We have visitors coming this weekend, so I needed to air rooms and make beds. In between, I checked the plants for frost damage, I found my poor frangipani is looking very poorly (even though I covered her).... any suggestions?
.
My dear KH went off to town to attend to business and on his return presented me with a lovely pendant. A blue saphire (my birthstone) it made me feel so special. He is going home to Adelaide on the 4th June. He has been such a help to me through Dad's ordeal and I have become very close to this man, time will tell a new story perhaps in the future.
.
.
Dad has been studying the papers he was given yesterday, re: the radium treatment, and I am having trouble keeping him focused. Perhaps the visitors will relax him.
.
Have a sunny weekend, smile, and hugs to all my friends.... xox

Thursday
A quick trip to Brissy and back, 270klms, dad had his prelimery appointment for his radium therapy, it all went well, the people who dealt with him were quiet calm and new their jobs. we go back on the 18th June to start his 6weeks treatment.
Now ,last night we had a ripper of a frost, -4 degrees thankfully the fire was giving off its beautiful heat, this morning the air con took over and warmed the house for breaky.I had put a stock pot on with chunks of chicken to make the stock for a chicken soup with chinese noodles,so this am before heading out to Brissy,I added the finishing spices and vegies, on our return this pm we were greeted with the smell permeating thru the house.Nothing like homemade soup and crunchy fresh bread.
I am a little tired this pm, so please accept my appologies for not visiting your posts will catch up with all my friends tomorrow Friday

A Good day
I believe we all have a greater purpose to our lives than merely existing day to day --- a greater purpose, even, than filling our own lives with light and joy. Each of us, in our own unique way, is called to let our light shine.
Thomas Kincadeā¦.
Today was one of those days where I achieved a lot. The old barn was calling and I got stuck into replacing the plaster on the walls. I am using the plaster I removed even though it is a little fragile (cost effective) and I succcessfully put back three panels. Tomorrow hopefully I will be able to get into some more. Dad and KH put the house name up which Nics painted for her grandpop and it looks good.
Hugs, Gail xox.

Something special for my friends...
God Always Answers Prayer
Rev. Robert H. Schuller
.
When the idea is not right, God says, "No."
No-when the idea is not the best. No-when the idea is absolutely wrong. No-when though it may help you, it could create problems for someone else.
When the time is not right, God says, "Slow."
What a catastrophe it would be if God answered every prayer at the snap of your fingers. Do you know what would happen? God would become your servant, not your master. Suddenly God would be working for you instead of you working for God.
Remember: God's delays are not God's denials. God's timing is perfect. Patience is what we need in prayer.
When you are not right, God says, "Grow."
The selfish person has to grow in unselfishness. The cautious person must grow in courage. The timid person must grow in confidence. The dominating person must grow in sensitivity. The critical person must grow in tolerance. The negative person must grow in positive attitudes. The pleasure-seeking person must grow in compassion for suffering people.
When everything is all right, God says, "Go."
Then miracles happen: A hopeless alcoholic is set free!A drug addict finds release ! A doubter becomes as a child in his belief. Diseased tissue responds to treatment, and healing begins. The door to your dream suddenly swings open and there stands God saying, "Go!"
If the Lord has you on hold... hold on!If the Lord has said "NO" to you... thank Him! If the Lords is molding your heart and mind... go with His change! If the Lord opens doors that you have asking Him to open... Praise Him!Be blessed wherever you are in your life today! God has His hands on the situation!
YOU SAY GOD SAYS BIBLE VERSES
You say: "It's impossible"
God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)
You say: "I'm too tired"
God says: I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30)
You say: "Nobody really loves me"
God says: I love you (John 3:16 & John 3:34 )
You say: "I can't go on"
God says: My grace is sufficient (II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)
You say: "I can't figure things out"
God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6)
You say: "I can't do it"
God says: You can do all things (Philippians 4:13)
You say: "I'm not able"
God says: I am able (II Corinthians 9:8)
You say: "It's not worth it"
God says: It will be worth it (Roman 8:28 )
You say: "I can't forgive myself"
God says: I Forgive you (I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)
You say: "I can't manage"
God says: I will supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19)
You say: "I'm afraid"
God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear (II Timothy 1:7)
You say: "I'm always worried and frustrated"
God says: Cast all your cares on ME (I Peter 5:7)
You say: "I'm not smart enough"
God says: I give you wisdom (I Corinthians 1:30)
You say: "I feel all alone"
God says: I will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

The Trip To Killarney
Well what a day, we headed off to show Kh some of the area and to get dad and mum out into the fresh air. Killarney is 36kms east of Warwick (the number three in orange on the map above), it is a small township at the top of one of the many beautiful valleys around here.
The main place I showed KH was the Queen Mary falls, a very serene area, in a national park. We left mum and dad at the lovely park, and walked the 1.5kms to the falls, the natural beauty was enveloping. We saw a lovely grey wallaby watching us intently and the bird life was magical to listen to. The falls were flowing far under capacity but majestic all the same. The cliff face opposite us was like a huge pipe organ. After hauling each other back up the mountain, it was off to lunch at Spring Creek only a further 10kms up on the plateau. The view is breathtaking and the food scrumptious. After our meal we headed down to the condamine gorge road.
This was just to show Kh the beginning of the river, but we ended up going home this way. It consisted of 14 river crossings and a rather hairy old road... as this was my first time 4x4, I found myself driving extremely cautiously. It was exillerating to say the least, thank goodness we are in drought, as I would be an absolute wreck doing this if the river was flowing even at a quarter of its capacity. But we got home safe and sound and Kh being the true gentleman that he is congratulated me on a job well done. Tomorrow will be a nice quiet day catching up on the gardening. Have a truly magical weekend with the ones you love. Hugs, Gail xox

Busy Busy
I find I an unable to post every day, life in Warwick is hectic to say the least. I have had tradesmen at the house all this week, mainly an electrician putting in the wiring in the barn, but also a new porch light. He has become a friend to us all and I think he enjoys the luncheons he gets when he does work for us. My friend KH has been a great help to dad, they have achieved alot of the smaller fixer up jobs together, and I believe dad enjoys his company(as do I). We went to the Goldcoast to met KH's family, they seem decent folk, we got on well. On the return trip we stopped in all the second hand shops and the nursery's... I bought the frog bath which is fantastic in the front garden, KH bought me a beautiful green vase from a second hand dealer and I acquired the porcelin frog from another nursery. We had a lovely break. Tomorrow we are all going for a drive into the country, up to Killarney and the beautiful Queen Mary Falls. We thought we would take some time to show Kh the area.

Mothers Day w/end
Wow, what a great weekend.... It started with my daughter and family coming up from the coast, then after a yummy homemade lasagna, fresh salad and icecream for my two babies..... we settled the littlies into bed and headed of to the pics. The choice (by the guys) was Mission Imposssible 3. Well I am geting old... I jumped out of my seat 6 million times and crinched and sunk down in my chair. I had forgotten what action movies were like. Up later sunday morning, everyone enjoyed a sleep in, I organised the breakies... then set to getting a roast dinner and apple sponge for desert ready. As everything went as planned, we sat down to a lovely mothers day luncheon, after which all everyone wanted to do was relax. My family headed back down to the coast about 5pm leaving me a very happy mum. Thankyou God for blessing me with these kids. Pop and greatgrandma are totally exhausted, but in a beautiful way. I have posted some pics of the beautiful statue and hand made card I was given. Hugs, Gail xox

Its another week to be thankful for...
Hello dear friends.... Firstly an update on dad, he is going well, doing odd jobs around the house, with KH and My help He does tire easily and is learning to pace himself. We have had quite a few visitors which has been good for him and alot of phone messages as most of our family still live down south. I have posted some pics of the latest improvements to this old home. Well the temp is finally dropping and jack frost has paid a few calls... I have been cooking winter meals and the log fire has been burning brightly. I do luv the colder months, its snuggle up weather, and I have someone to snuggle up with again. Mum is going about her knitting and sewing, she hasnt got back into her patch work yet. We go to Toowoomba tomorrow to meet with the radium guy and then I think it will be Brisbane for the treatment. Thankyou again for the support network you have all put together. Hugs Gail
