Taking Time
Hello dear friends,
I have been away fom the blogging world, due to everyday duties and the caring of my parents and the renovating of this our home.
Where to start, I have been taking my parents on exploring day trips, we have found some places of awesome beauty ,an unbelievable water fall , that you drive through a paddock to view, which had numerous wallabies and kangaroos grazing with the cattle and red tailed black cockatoos screeching out their welcome.I will try to post the pics, but they do not do the place justice.
The second trip was a little further away, into a place called the Boonoo Boono National park, but as the two little companions were with us we had to turn away at the entrance,(no domestic animals) not that these two think they are animals more like miniture humans. Anyway as is our thing we went off the beaten track (so to speak) and discovered an old family plot(cemetary) dated 1879 for a family Cook and not far was a group of dainty orchids growing, my father later identified it in one of our gardening books. We travelled to some special places this day and I often wondered who travelled these tracks before us. I took some pics of the deserted homestead and church.
I have had my dad to the Docs and they are extremely pleased with the way he has healed and come out of the radium treatment .he does easily tire these days,he also gets frustrated when he is unable to do as much, but I think he is to hard on himself.
We have finished installing our stain glassed cockatoo in the barn and I have taped all the plaster panel joins and dad has been busy filling the joins ready for me to sand. We will be attempting the roof next, I dont feel it will be as hard as the rest it looks pretty straightforward, its all in the preparation so dad tells me.
The garden has been taking alot of my time, it has needed weeding, feeding and mulching, after 11 bails of sugar cane mulch it is ready for the summer heat.
I have also completely redone where the front lawn was, it is now a garden awaiting the plants, it took 9metres of soil and 8 bales of mulch, but should look pretty neat by the time its completed.
Today was my mums birthday so I packed her into the car and we went shoppping to Toowoomba which is an hours drive North and has alot more to offer shopping wise. We came home with alot of goodies including an assortment of plants which will be my chores for tomorrow.
So for now I will say bye and hope you are all smiling
